Lucknow: A meeting of the Divisional Industry Bandhu Committee was held today at the Export Bhawan auditorium under the chairmanship of Vijay Vishwas Pant. The meeting focused on key industrial infrastructure issues, particularly the persistent problem of waterlogging in major industrial areas.
Emphasizing the need for a permanent solution, the Commissioner directed officials to address waterlogging in the industrial estates of Amausi, Sarojini Nagar, and Banthra. Representatives from the Construction and Design Services (C&DS) unit of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam informed that approval from the state government is awaited for drainage works in these areas. The Commissioner instructed the agency to prepare and submit a detailed cost estimate for the proposed drainage system before the next meeting.
Reviewing ongoing sewer and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects in Amausi and Sarojini Nagar, officials from Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam stated that approximately 70 percent of the work has been completed, with the remaining expected by September 2026. However, the Commissioner directed that all pending work must be completed by June 2026 as per the original timeline.
The meeting also reviewed the road widening and strengthening project on Mohan Road, being undertaken by Lucknow Development Authority. Officials reported that 80 percent of the 925-meter stretch has been completed. Industrial representatives expressed dissatisfaction with the progress, prompting the Commissioner to order a joint survey involving stakeholders. The survey report is to be presented at the next meeting.

Additionally, a review of key government loan schemes was conducted, including the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, One District One Product (ODOP) Financing Scheme, and the Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign. The progress in Unnao district was found below expectations, and officials were directed to improve performance and ensure 100 percent target achievement across all districts.
Several senior officials and representatives from industrial bodies, including members from UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Public Works Department (PWD), and banking institutions, were present at the meeting.
The meeting concluded with directives aimed at accelerating infrastructure development and improving industrial conditions across the Lucknow division.
